To break up the long drive today we stopped at Adare's Desmond castle. It was built in the 13th century, but got blasted by Cromwell in the 1600s. It's been partially rebuilt, though our guide was annoyed at how they reconstructed parts of it.

Louis thought it was cool. I think he appreciated it more than some of the buildings we've looked at because you had to imagine how parts of the buildings came together.
